Terms of Service
Chess: Pawn to Pro · Version 1 · Last updated: October 16, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Baris Findikkaya, the developer of the Android app Chess: Pawn to Pro ("the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Contact: bfindikkayaother@gmail.com.
1. Who can use the app
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, please read these Terms together with a parent or guardian. Some features are off by default for players under 18 (playing people you don't know, being found by username); you can change them in Profile → Privacy.
2. Your account
Keep your login details safe; you are responsible for what happens in your account. Give us correct information (for example your birth year). You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account or as described on our account deletion page.
3. Usernames and fair play
When using the app you agree not to:
- choose a username that is offensive, hateful, sexual, impersonates someone else (including us), or infringes someone's rights;
- cheat in online games (for example by using a chess engine or another person's help), manipulate ratings, or abuse rewards (such as invites or XP);
- harass, threaten or spam other players;
- copy, modify, reverse-engineer or automate the app, or use our servers (including the chess analysis) other than through the app;
- break any law.
We may change an inappropriate username, remove content, end games, or suspend or delete accounts that break these rules. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.
4. Premium subscription
- Premium is a subscription sold through Google Play, monthly or yearly. The price, billing period and any free trial or introductory price are shown before you buy.
- It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Google Play (also from Profile → Manage subscription); Premium then stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Payments, refunds and taxes are handled by Google Play under Google's policies. This does not limit any rights you have under the consumer law of your country.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
5. Rewards and virtual items
XP, ranks, streaks, rewarded-ad uses and free Premium days (for example from invites or ranks) are part of the app. They have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may change or end. We may remove rewards obtained by cheating or abuse.
6. Ads
Free users may choose to watch rewarded ads (from Google AdMob) for extra uses. Ads are limited to content rated PG at most. See the Privacy Policy for how ads use data.
7. Content and licences
The app, its lessons, texts, design, name and logo belong to us (third-party parts belong to their owners and are listed in the app under About → Open-source licenses). We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app for your own, non-commercial use.
Your games and username stay yours. You allow us to use them to run the app (for example to show games to your opponent and to prepare your coach report), and to use chess positions from games, without your name or any link to you, as puzzles for all players. Puzzles and analyses you choose to share become a public link that anyone can open; they are removed after 180 days.
If you believe something in the app infringes your copyright, see our copyright notice page.
8. The service
We work to keep the app running and correct, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". Chess analysis, coach reports and ratings are computer-generated and may be wrong. We may change, add or remove features, and may stop the app with reasonable notice.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer).
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For important changes we will ask you to accept the new version in the app. The version and date are shown at the top of this page.
11. Law and disputes
If you have a problem, please contact us first at bfindikkayaother@gmail.com – most issues can be solved quickly. These Terms do not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, including your right to go to the courts of that country.
